More Chicago

Help!  My mom’s movers are here, and we didn’t get everything ready.  What is ready is because of my very organized step-siblings.  I’m on hold with AT&T, because my mom isn’t sure if she already ordered the switchover to her new apartment (which, again, is happening now!).  Then I’m going to call Macy’s, to make sure they’re delivering the bed for her new place — which she’ll need to, you know, sleep in.

It has occurred to me, throughout many of my 57 years, that I should be better-organized — or even just … organized.  Maybe, as we get older, we tend to settle for the selves that we’ve proven ourselves to be, rather than who we’ve always hoped to become.  I realize now that I won’t ever play in the NBA — but I guess I still hold out hope for becoming a methodical person, who does what needs to be done, with no distractions, until that thing is done, and then moves on to the next thing.  But right now I’m a multitasker, with the only caveat being that I’m not really doing any tasks.

I’m still on hold with AT&T.
